I had just returned from a cool and crisp January visit to the edge of western North Carolina, just over the border from our beloved Boone, NC. The trip was filled with sorrow and loss but the universe continued to shine its grace upon us all. The air was cold, fitting for the sadness that had been filling our hearts, but when the blue skies lit up in the late morning sun it cast those beautiful TN mountains in a glow of purple shadows and misty fog. A beautiful sight to behold. The thick mist hovering over the valley, as if you could walk across the clouds and touch that purple mountain majesty. In that moment I knew all of our hearts would heal, that a souls journey never ends, and our loss was merely physical and not eternal.
