"Whatever you do, Paint!"
"Who, me..? Paint?!?"
"Whatever you do, Paint!"
My body lit up like fireworks, electric energy running from the tips of my toes to the hairs on my head, in that moment I knew those words were my next step. I had been asking for guidance, direction, ways I could spread more light in the world and there it was, loud and clear.
"Whatever you do, Paint!"
When you feel words that make your soul light up inside, even if they seem crazy, you follow through. Inspired thought is on the precipice of all things wild, wonderful, and extraordinary! Those words felt more like a command than a suggestion. I asked, I listened, and I followed through unsure of the outcome but knowing I was being led to the answer.
Having never studied art, I was setting off on a path free to create whatever came next, as I started painting I became lost in each piece, intuitively putting pigment to paper and discovering the magic inside watercolor and myself.
Over the following year I devoured every book I could find in our library system about painting, drawing, watercolor, and art.
I painted everyday, I found direction and clarity in my life and I began to see the world in rich vibrant, color. I saw everything around me differently. I saw as much beauty in a single grain of sand twinkling in the morning sun as I did in the vibrant blue orange glow of the sunrise that followed. I started to see the world through my paintbrush and I felt right at home.
Today I paint everyday for hours on end. I work larger, bolder and all together more intuitively. I share my joy of creating through social media channels and outdoor art gallery events along the eastern coast of the US. I hope you can make it to one of my events because art of all kinds is best FELT in person but if not you can always find me here or catch me walking the beach somewhere along the coast.
I'm a self taught artist, mediocre handy woman, mom of two amazing humans, and lover of all things that bring people JOY!
I hope my art can bring Joy to you and your home.
Until then,
You Be the JOY my friends!
